Challenge
As the biggest economy in Africa with one of the largest youth populations in the world, Nigeria is well positioned to develop a strong digital economy. But Nigeria is plagued with an over 33% unemployment rate, with it capturing only 49% of its human capital potential. Skill gaps are the major cause of unemployment in Nigeria now. The pandemic caused employers to expand their operations. Hence, the demand for digital skills, but there are not enough young people upskilled to meet the demand.
Solution
TechQuest STEM Academy is proffering up a solution of empowering the youth with the skills necessary to fill that gap. Your contribution to the DAMPY aims to sponsor as many people to participate in the program which we will keep running concurrently for as many people to be a part of it. Improving their digital skills in that regard thereby puts them in high demand in the market for good-paying jobs. Our target is to be able to train a minimum of 400 Nigerian youths within the next 2 months.
