STEM SKILL-UP: BACKEND WEB DEVELOPMENT
We are thrilled to introduce the Stem Skill-Up: Backend Web Development program, aimed at aspiring individuals with a passion for learning backend web development. This program will provide the fundamental skills required to be a backend web developer. It introduces participants to the server-side development and the back-end activities that go on when engaging with websites. The program explores participants’ creativity using web technologies such as JavaScript, SQL, and Node.js. At the end of the program, participants will learn about:
- JavaScript (an introduction)
- Node.js essentials
- GitHub
- Database Oriented Development
- Module Oriented Development
- API Development
- Hosting Node.js applications
This scholarship is designed to empower talented young people pursuing a career in this rapidly evolving field, providing them with the necessary resources and support to excel in their tech journey.
ABOUT STEM Skill-Up: Backend Web Development Program
The STEM Skill-Up: Backend Web Development is powered by The Lagos State Science, Research, and Innovation Council (LASRIC) and implemented by TechQuest STEM Academy. We believe in the power of technology and its impact on the digital world. Through this scholarship, we aim to identify and support individuals interested in building their digital capabilities and fostering innovation.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
To be considered for the STEM Skill-Up: Backend Web Development, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be currently following Tech Quest STEM Academy and LASRIC on at least two of their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn)
- Must be resident in Lagos State
- Have access to a working Laptop and internet connection
- Have basic knowledge of computer systems
- Submit a completed application form along with all required supporting documents. Click here for the application form

All applications will be reviewed by a panel of experts, who will assess the candidates based on their performance on the test and overall suitability for the scholarship.
